The English dark-rock solo project WANWEIRD released the EP Honey & Salt on the 18th.
This is music to listen to whilst the speakers rattle as the sounds, like suppurating wounds, leak through the room.
A dark brooding presence can be felt palpably flowing into the veins as WANWEIRD deliver tracks of scathing commentary of the world around and strangely intoxicating mutually destructive love songs.
The lofi production is integral to the compositions which gives the combinations of guitars, bass, percussion and occasional synth an organic connection with the audience from which the perfectly pitched and paced vocal adds both the salt and honey. I have little doubt I will be returning to WANWEIRD frequently over the coming years.
By way of an introduction from the five track Honey & Salt (available on bandcamp) the penultimate – Pluto.
