Tragic Earth from Australia recently released their début Single – Feels Good, Could Be Better.
Turn up the volume and grab a beer as Tragic Earth spear out of the speakers. Dirty rock meets big metal wah-wah in the immensely satisfying four minutes of Feels Good, Could Be Better.
The percussion lays a steady pace from which Tragic Earth build the music, with a bass that makes its presence felt like a menacing leather studded glove. From this firm footing the guitar is allowed to paint colours in the sky without loosing trajectory as the drums insist on keeping things moving forwards. Rounding off the sound is a surprisingly expressive vocal, which progresses from the tremulous to the tempestuous through Feels Good, Could Be Better, giving the track an ever growing powerful presence as it evolves.
Although I haven’t had the opportunity to hear any other songs on their forthcoming Eponymous EP due early next year, if Feels Good, Could Be Better is anything to go by, it will be an EP to add to the collection. I certainly look forward to hearing more by Tragic Earth.
