The US alt-rock quintet Talking Under Water released their eponymous LP on the 28th of April.
With a breadth of instrumentation to hand Talking Under Water have used this release to showcase their wide range of musical setting, making for a ten track album (available on bandcamp) that takes the listener on an eclectic journey, with songs ranging from honky-tonk country, to rumbling rock and much in-between.
The common thread being that there always lays a melancholic air to the sounds from which the listener is able to take solace and on completing the just about forty two minutes release find catharsis.
My pick of the LP is the penultimate – Strange.
