The Iceland based artrock quartet Woman & Savages release the EP The Love Of on the 25th of May.
Woman & Savages
The second track to surface from the forthcoming, Traumatic, Erotic, which appeared a few hours ago is the most jazz laden composition I have heard of theirs, which they melt in to the signature muffled coat sound which always gives the music its calming textures whilst simultaneously permitting the varied layers the space to develop their full lustre.

The English electro-rock quartet Woman & Savages are working towards the release of their début EP – In The Nude.
Women & Savages
Newly out of the blocks, there is but one song to hear. Demonizer (available on bandcamp) takes a sardonic look at racial, sectarian and sexual discrimination wrapped inside a pulsing bass drum / bass guitar that never lets go of the throbbing intensity, while synth delivers generous landscape from which guitars curl around each other in smokey hues, as vocal delivers the scathing context of the piece.
Woman & Savages deliver a confident début and are unafraid to take their time to unfold Demonizer, which lasts for five minutes and forty seconds allowing them to explore the reaches of the song and offer some complexity to the ideas, while having the songwriting, composition and delivery ability to not loose the audience through the track.
As regular readers know I am quite partial to bowed strings, so, it was with some delight towards the closing moments, they come to fore.
Adil Azhar, Gemma Newbury, Pedro Scalamandre and Deckard Smith-McMurphy are a quartet worth keeping a look out for in the future.
