The Swedish heavy-metal quartet Corroded are set to release the LP Bitter on the 25th of January 2019.
Cross, the third of the dozen tracks on Bitter, is the first song to surface from the album and once again evidences why they have remained stalwarts of the rock scene for as long as they have and signals that their fifth album will be another to add to the collection as soon as available.
The Croatian alt-rock band Embassy 516 release the LP Correlation tomorrow.
With a different sound to music of their previously featured – Ghosts – the third of the fourteen tracks on the album, has an art-rock stridency that is paired with a cinematic soundscape to create a song that builds ever more expansive imagery and rivulets of exploration through its approaching three and eleven twelfths minutes of duration.
Why it has taken over three years to return to the Indian Ska outfit The Ska Vengers is a mystery of its own creation.
The Ska Vengers
Although not a new song, nor even of a recent performance, the track Shut Your Mouth, captured live in England has this past week been made available. In the fond hope of new material, a reminder of The Ska Vengers.
Special mention is made to Karan Joseph, who died last year and plays keys in this performance.
Rodrigo Vera Tudela (Vocal / Guitar), Richard Angeles (Drums), Lucas Stiglich (Bass) and Mateo Majluf (Guitar) from Lima (Peru) who form the alt-rock band Mundaka released the recorded live EP Mar Adentro on the 21st.
An EP which introduces various guest musicians and disparate instrumentation as and where required, journeys around a broad thread of influence.
My selection from the EP being the penultimate, which only features the four players in the band in a swooping hazy array of fretboards, surrounded by an uncompromising bass / drum combination, Desaparecer.
All five tracks were, as with this video, captured in the live performance of the recording session of the EP.
The English theatrical-metal outfit Evil Scarecrow will be releasing the LP Chapter IV: Antartarctica on the 28th.
Their ability to take a standard metal construct and add embellishing flourishes to create music of drama that doesn’t sound self-indulgent marks Evil Scarecrow as a band it is always a pleasure to discover what they are up to at any given point in time.
Red Riding Hood, the second of the ten tracks on the forthcoming album, implies current location being – science-fantasy.
