The Israeli alt-rock trio REDLINES released the LP Round 1. on the 15th.
Over the past year and a half REDLINES have concentrated on developing a live presence and the addition of their début nine track album (available on bandcamp) will serve to further broaden the audience.
With a faint traditional folk tint under-pinning fairly morose-rock REDLINES are able to deliver music which has an undertow of menacing growl while being something you can happily dance to round a camp-fire.
The heavy vocal weighs the compositions with their emotional reflections, as the bass and guitar bounce one across each other providing both the atmosphere and space from which the guitar traverses from light-footstep to shackled distortion.
The second track on Round 1. Cocaine is my pick of the release with its shifts in tempo that spring like compressed coils around the room.
