Each of their three tracks, there are only three, has the assuredness of a well established musical act who must have been around for a long time with a vast international audience, however that is far from the reality – a matter of months in existence, no website, no social media page and only a small imprint on soundcloud to evidence their existence – not even hint of live performance – yet they have already established themselves deep in to my psyche and I look forward to featuring them over the coming years.

The five track release (available on bandcamp) is all done and dusted in two hundred and ninety six seconds with the listener being minded of the delight that was The Damned of the ’70s as the theoretically irrelevant keyboard somehow becomes the fulcrum for the music.
The opening track, lasting precisely sixty seconds, is Born In The Mid To Late ’60s.
The English new wave quartet Sauna Youth will be releasing the LP Deaths on the 7th of September.
Percentages, the first of the dozen track on the album, reflects of a world in which people have been reduced to statistical samples and serves as a fair introduction to the roughly twenty nine minutes run-time of Deaths.
Why the US new wave trio wimps haven’t featured previously is a mystery of its own making.
The newest LP to be released, Garbage People, which came out earlier this month (available on bandcamp) is a bubbling brook of sparkling rock’n’roll that merely requires space be cleared to dance prior to hitting play such is the infectious nature of it all.
From the thirteen track album – which only contains one song lasting longer than three minutes – my pick of the release is the one hundred and fifty one seconds of the fourth – Mope Around.
It has been heading towards five years since the Australian new-wave duo The Gooch Palms last featured and the reason for the lengthy gap is anyone’s guess.

On the 20th the single Busy Bleeding, featuring Kelly Jansch from the Australian garage trio Totty, made its appearance, I merely hope it doesn’t take another half a decade for our paths to cross again.
