It has been approaching a year since the Russian dreamwave outfit Наадя (Naadia) last featured.
The newest track – Облака (Clouds) – is borne through the room in contrasts of the flexing muscles of bulging bass-loops and the fragile feathering synth through which the vocal hovers like a bird flighting in and out of focus through sunlight and occlusions of broken stratus.
The Russian dream-wave band наадя (Naadia) released the three track single хорошо (Good) yesterday.
The closing track никогда (Never), epitomises all that is enjoyable about наадя (Naadia) as the just under three and a three quarters of music drifts around the room. Like a silversmith tempering the metal into shape, so, the longer the piece plays the formations become smoother, more lustrous and flowing.
Combining synths and instrumentation together with an evocative vocal allows Наадя (Naadia) to deliver music that soars around the room like a murmuration of Starlings sweeping across the skies.
From their eponymous LP, the fifth of the eleven tracks Омут (Whirlpool) wraps the listener in tender embrace as shifts of pace and intensity massage the body and soul. Наадя (Naadia) is able to invest the track with the passion and gentleness of exploring a lovers body as the instrumentation and synthetics glide around in shifting patterns of touch, whilst the voice soothes and teases.
