Emerging Indie Bands continues on memory of my partner Julie Norbury who died in September 2011 aged 39 and is a continuation of Indie Bands Blog. The New Year Ninety, as always, is dedicated to Julie, the co-founding partner who had immense appreciation for musical creatives.
The Finnish alt-rock creator KatjA Luhtala is putting final touches to her new LP.

A song to surface in the past day is I Was An Immigrant Too, which will be on the album. Released as a demo track by KatjA earlier than planned due to coming across an incident of racial abuse she witnessed, that so incensed her, she felt putting the song out early was the best way to respond.
With a style some-what different to that of the previous material featured by KatjA Luhtala since her introduction in 2013 – how could I not be smitten by the reggae sounds and sentiment of – I Was An Immigrant Too.
Katja And Them Aint Saints is a dark-folk trio from Finland released their début single on the 4th.

Originally a duo, it was in July of last year that the third member joined and Katja And Them Aint Saints came to fruition. Katja Luhtala – the Katja part of the band, will be known by regular readers, having been introduced in 2013 and most recently featuring in the New Year Ninety.
With songs normally created in English, Yön Sydämeen marks another difference, though an English version of Into the Heart of Night is also available.
