The Scottish alt-rock creator JD Allan released a new single on the 6th.
On reading the name of the track I was immediately reminded of the version of Lonely Boy released by the Sex Pistols back in 1979. A popular song title going back prior to Paul Anka in 1959.
When I hit play I found something new, which also sounds of a very different space to the JD Allan feature of last year. Gone and forgotten are the angry bustling reflections, to be replaced by an introspective sense of fast nights and early morning blues while contemplating breakfast alone. The reverberating guitar drifts past the ears in disconsolate furloughs whilst vocal paces up and down the room in quiet reflective commentary.
