Helen Of Troy the alt-folk vehicle for Norway based Helena Belien released the two track single Another Sunshine yesterday.
Those who are of longer stay will also notice than many of the musicians featured who create music with most unashamed emotional connection with their music which reflects in lyric, voice and construct are those well travelled and who also regularly perform on the streets and Helen Of Troy is another such an example.
Born in Belgium of parents with two different nationalities, Helena spent many years in the African Continent as an Engineer, eventually packing it all up and spending time living in the roof top tent of a Land Rover Defender whilst travelling the bush and now splitting her time between South Africa and Norway, this itinerant and prolific musician creates songs which, due in no small part to their sparsity of camouflage, like a white-hot branding iron sear the brain of the listener with their excoriation.
The opening track and title of the new single with a tilt of the head towards an element of her Celtic heritage – Another Sunshine.
