The US hazewave duo plume released the EP ivy eyes on the 3rd.
Akin to a mirage the music floats in shimmering folds of siren like temptation and there the mixed metaphor ends as rather than being all glistening lack of substance their music envelopes the listener in threads of silky vocal, a ganache of synth bound by gloopy guitar in which to be pleasurably woven.
The opening track of the five on ivy eyes (available on bandcamp) – happy – being my pick of the release.
It has been over eighteen months since the English warming-rock quintet The Seagulls last featured.
Currently finalising details of their second LP – from the forthcoming album, to be made available as a stand alone single on the 1st of December – Happy – grasps hold of the listener in protective embrace.
