Sinny is a Scottish country-folk trio.

I have noticed over the years that US southern country holds an influence over more than a smattering of the Scottish bands and musicians featured along with others who send over their music for consideration – an intriguing conundrum.
Nonetheless often extremely capably delivered and Sinny adds to that list with latest two track single Running Away, which was released last week, my pick of which is the B side Look Who’s Crying Now.

The US country-folk project of Hayley Johnson – The Little Miss – is working on the release of the EP American Dream.
The Little Miss
A Ride Along the Mountain Valley, from the forthcoming release, is a dour perspective, which perhaps enunciates clearly the windswept, dusty and tarnished American Dream as it trots across the room with serenity of gait which finds the listener giddying up their chair around the room with equally chapped stirrups, or possibly bruised ankles, to accompany the two chord evocative anthem.
Those of longer stay will know my ever present predilection towards songs of minimalist persuasion, often commenting three chords is plenty, yet, in A Ride Along the Mountain Valley – The Little Miss evidences that three has the potential to be one chord too many and it will some as no surprise this immediately sits on my essential songs playlist, as it assuredly should yours too.
