The Serbian psychedelic dectet The Cyclist Conspiracy released the EP Mashallah Plan: VIRILITY on the 9th.
The Cyclist Conspiracy
Taking a side-step from the world order of the 21st Century The Cyclist Conspiracy offer a journey of alternative vision. Neither seeking to be confrontational nor finger-wagging the dectet offer an alternative take with the seemingly antithetical concept of psychedelic cohesiveness. Yet on wandering through the approximately twenty five minute – five track release (available on bandcamp through Trashmouth) the listener is struck by the luscious greenery and out-stretching of arms proffering connection and unity, not condemnatory sneers and silos of disquiet.
Inevitably my pick of the release is the atypical track on the EP with – THEOLOGY & BICYCLISM EXCERPT 1 – that runs for less than two minutes and proffers spears – yet to me – seems to have the essence of the release summed up concisely. That is not to suggest you shouldn’t wander through more typical pieces and savour the full flavour of MASHALLAH PLAN – VIRILITY, which is a release well worth exploring in far greater detail.

VVhile from Belgrade in Serbia is the alt-rock duo of Stevan Ćirović and Andrija Spičanović.

There is a subversive stream of sound that filters around the room as the VVhile extract the juices for the audiences edification and one is left feeling they are sitting in a squat in the GRD as the duo take the listener on an underground journey of excavation.
There is a Euclidean matrix that sits inside the vortex of sounds and you will find yourself reaching for the answers as the duo tamper out the bore-holes into which the music funnels. VVhile deliver a set of compositions which elude the touch as the duo deliver music which has an entrancing attraction to the ear.
The scimitar of strings foiling against percussion whilst a vocal appears like an apparition from the nether corners gives VVhile a tragic confluence that writhes around the head like Medusa with her shining invitations guarded by venom.
A duo with considerable experience behind them VVhile coalesced as a unit recently with a just over forty five minute ten track vinyl LP – While coming out in January 2015 which is one to get hold of when available.

Muerto Rico from Belgrade in Serbia is the angst-rock trio of Kosta (Bass / Vocals), Filip (Guitar) and Stefan (Drums).
Only formed in May Muerto Rico do not have a great deal of music I can yet hear, but what I have has already helped to make my tinnitus even worse as the reeling roar rages across the room and the louder the volume, the better it sounds.
The members of the band are all experienced musicians who have whetted their appetite prior to getting together and are beginning to secure a live touring circuit with their mutations of blazing guitar, frenetic percussion and raucous vocal. This isn’t a sound to take with a cup of Horlicks – as far from drifting into malted sleep, you will find yourself impaled by tracks, which typically manage to get all the fury packed up in around two and a half minutes of explosive energy.
To my mind, Muerto Rico, don’t need to improve as the sounds are exactly as they should be, merely add tracks to help my ears bleed further and I look forward to hearing much more over the coming months.
