The Israeli prog-rock band Long Day release their début LP Perhaps Too Long on the 31st.
Long in gestation – Long Day were formed in 2013 and have battled through adversity to finally to get to what they wanted and the just under fifty five minute, nine track release (available on bandcamp) sums up the journey thus far. With tracks ranging betwixt three and five minutes they conclude the album with an expressive sigh of relief in the closing thirteen minutes and seventeen seconds of All The Walls.
One can sense the palpable repose that finally they can let their hair down in All The Walls, a track which expounds of the alleviation of finally cutting the LP, in an extended composition that consists of two minutes and thirty eight seconds of joyful puppy play followed by nine minutes and fifty nine seconds of silence and a final forty seconds of gnawing on bones – how could this not be my pick of the release?
