The alt-indie US creator Kerchief was introduced earlier this year.
From the début LP Machines & Animals, which came out earlier this year, the fourth of the eleven tracks – Jack London – has a very different feel to Milk & Honey, which was featured in March and also from the album.
The track finds Kerchief using a more subtle approach, with the instrumentation forming a backdrop to the vocal, which sits well to the forefront. Sharply pointed guitar strings are allowed to break through from time to time and this gives Jack London a natural fluidity, which is the hallmark of the general out-put.
By adding twists and turns of tempo to the track Kerchief is able to take a straightforward idea and wrap it in a cinematic mystery, giving Jack London rivulets and eddies, which capture the imagination.
