The Swedish melodic rock trio don’t trust Vegas released the two track single Mercy on the 13th.

Fascinatingly the B side of the single is a piano version of Mercy, which gives an insight to their songwriting song starting points and expands on how don’t trust Vegas are able to use their musical prowess to create material which is both expansive whilst simultaneously has a clear direction of travel.

The full version interweaves the synths and guitar to create the generous backdrop for the vocal to emote of the context of the track, while the bass and percussion brings everything together akin to a spanner turning a bolt.

Word arrives that during the course of 2017 don’t trust Vegas aim to release singles on a fairly regular basis and it will be interesting to discover whether each release will also include the source material.
