The second of the eight tracks on the album – Apocalyptic Hearts – showcases the ability of the quintet to deliver music that has a thumping pace whilst underneath, like a geological-plate, the slowly revolving melody is the real strength of the song through which a powerful yet deftly controlled vocal shines brightly.
The Finnish melodic-metal quartet As I May released the single Hero on the 4th.
As I May
I am aware that I have mentioned it previously though I don’t feel it is repetition for the sake of repetition to comment that musicians from Scandinavia are often able to deliver music which combines what on the surface are polar-opposites that can’t possibly work, yet turn it in to a concept of intrigue and complexity that fascinates – very often melodic-metal.
In Hero – As I May provide the listener with a dark underbelly of fire that opens its wings and glides gracefully through room like a sparrow-hawk searching for prey.
Uptown Electronics is a dark-electronica project from Finland.
Generally working as a duo they do from time to time add additional players as appropriate in Post-War Love Song – Mia K is the additional vocalist.
The gloomy recesses of the room appear as sunlit fields, on hitting play, as the oppressive roll of Post-War Love Song, the title track and opener of the three on the single that came out earlier this month, rumbles through the speakers wrapped in velvety layering in which the audience finds themselves hypnotically drawn.
An email that has been sitting in my inbox since last month, sadly, so I am a tad late to this and my apologies.

Their fleet of foot compositions are influenced by both indie dance and folk resulting in tracks containing swooping melodies which gather up the audience in welcoming embrace. From the forthcoming album – Silent Spring is a roughly five minute number which showcases their style.
The ambient experimental-electronica project Multicast Dynamics based in Finland releases the LP Continental Ruins on the 27th.
From the fourteen track album (available through Denovali Records) Frequency Modulation is the eighth.
Creating music from analogue synthesizers, effects units, looped recorded sounds – sequenced on a computer and finally mixed on an analogue desk – Multicast Dynamics always creates tracks of intrigue in which the listener can stretch their imagination.
