bighouseburning is the guitar-wave project for JC Connington from Southend-On-Sea in England.

The name JC Connington will be familiar with older readers of the website with Junkstar, initially introduced back in 2010 with the CD and 7″ vinyl heading to Argentina. Last featured at number 38 on the 2012 New Year Ninety, it was with some delight I received an email from JC just last week with an update of where he had resurfaced.

Serving as an introduction of his return, this time round as a solo performer bigburninghouse released a ten track eponymous LP on the 10th featuring some of the older sounds with the familiar bounce and joy of zingy dance music.

The freshest sounds of bighouseburning will be arriving in the form of a three track single in 2016. The title of which, In Control, I have had the pleasure of hearing, though sadly am not able to share with this article, as it still remains only in demo form. It marks a pleasing evolution of direction, with greater emphasis on the guitar to get under the skin, rather than synths injecting themselves into the blood stream and a change that I look forward to being able to share nearer the time.

Inevitably, to mark the return of a welcome reconnection I have selected a track not on the LP, rather one, which does capture the development – Inside My Face.
