The combinations of electronica and instrumentation wash through the ears in multifarious blurry layers, giving the compositions a sense of other-worldliness that captures the imagination and finds the listener ensconced in their own thought processing of the roughly thirty three minutes, eight track, album, which is available on bandcamp.

The coaxial of hyper-fluttering percussive and dreamy soundscape particularly holding attention, as exemplified in the antepenultimate song Limerence.

Le Destroy – Knives – Audio

The US industrial-rock project Le Destroy is finalising details of the EP Slaughter.

Le Destroy

Le Destroy

The first track to surface from the EP – Knives – which was released as a stand alone single on the 23rd of February signposts of a fuller release which is likely to grab attention and add to the collection.

Prior to hitting play do ensure everything is tightly tied down as the walls will start to shudder and foundations pulsate as the music rattles from the speakers. Skittish drum double-taps like a trained assassin with a fulsome bass guitar thrubbing as though a pneumatic drill driving in to the floor while the glitchy-guitar spreads a dystopian cloud over the audience, from which the absorbing vocal looms akin to a precursor of foreboding future all of which is underpinned by ominous piano minors.

Kraus – Bum – Audio

The US shoegaze project Kraus releases the LP Path on the 9th.

Showering the room in a misty downpour of hazy sounds the songs on the dozen track album (available on bandcamp) are shrouded in echoing fuzzy guitar which obscures the already gauzed vocal with only the persistent percussion identifying the forward momentum minding the listener of driving through thick fog on a motorway with only the thrub of the wheels on the road providing clarity of motion.

Far from feeling anxious the mind relaxes to its task and revels in the obscured compositions.

The second track is Bum.

Grey Watson – Love Is Good, Its #1 (feat. The Visions) – Single Review

The South Korean based electro-alt-rock project Grey Watson released the single Love Is Good, Its #1 yesterday.

Grey Watson

Grey Watson

More typically releasing music of less optimistic feel Love Is Good, Its #1 is an electro-washed celebration of all the positives of love without being either a slushy fest of ‘new love’ nor an exposition of long term relationships – rather an upbeat statement of principal.

The almost pragmatic starting point of perspective enables the song to have both a feel-good vibe, whilst retain a depth of sonic structure as guitars and electronica weave through each other. The vocal spinning in and out of focus and tempo changes gives the track a vaguely retro funk-groove underbelly.
