Spring.Fall.Sea – The Man In Gold – Audio

The Thailand based electro-sludge band Spring.Fall.Sea released the EP The Seedless Fruit on the 5th.

Spring.Fall.Sea

Spring.Fall.Sea

Sprawling out of the speakers like a reveller falling out of the taxi at dawn after a weekend partying Spring.Fall.Sea deliver music full of good humour yet replete with a need for a full breakfast fry-up to energise the day ahead and one can smell the succulent scent of tomatoes warming in the pan as the bacon and sausages splutter in enticing pops and squeaks.

You may wonder how that describes my selection of the EP (available on bandcamp) the second of the five – The Man In Gold – which if you don’t party until a day later than you intended or ever cook a full-breakfast in shallow fat then still won’t make sense even after playing – though if you do – will instantly spot the relevance.

Magic Knut – MouthKiss. Velvet Grounds – Audio

Magic Knut is a Thailand based German EDM creator.

Magic Knut

Magic Knut

With a background in architectural design Magic Knut seeks to deliver an aural depiction of the Urban landscape of the infrastructure of Bangkok, which is ably transported to almost any major conurbation.

MouthKiss. Velvet Grounds from the LP R.A.W. I’m not here to please- Laser Swords, Baby is a fast flowing track that reminds, at dusk, watching lights of vehicles urgently pressing to head to the suburbs with passengers aboard, whilst the jagged edges of the stop start rhythm reminds of the realities. As the song develops so the collisions of sound become ever more pronounced, reflecting on the disharmony between the reality of urban planning and the strategic bureaucratic failures of the promise of freely running rivulets.

Liquid – Keep It Away – Audio

The viscous-synth band Liquid from Thailand is new out of the blocks.

Liquid

Liquid

To surface in the past few hours is their first track – Keep It Away, which reminds of a lava lamp, with gently folding wax forming slowly evolving shapes.

This is not music to take on the run, rather to settle with and become lost in the viscosity of the sounds which melt into the brain.
