The Brazilian progressive-acoustic creator Luan Bates released his début three track single Listen Up, Mates last month.
Diarising of the a world as it evolves around him Luan makes commentary of the realities of his own circumstances, making for tracks of gritty realism, for which I raise a hat and ask you spend time in his company.
The middle tack is This Weight (Part 2) – and the release is available on Bandcamp.

The first track to surface from the forthcoming release is the just under three and half minutes number Break Out, which has the sense of stopping time in its tracks as the listener finds themselves wondering – ‘how was this trippy dream which took me on a carpet ride of conflicting fantasical allegory able to be packed in to such a brief interlude?’.
The Danish indie-rock band Rum 37 release the LP Guldstol Mod Yderste Kaj on the 27th of January.
The completion of the album was blighted by the death of the drummer Mikkel Lumbye, after a short illness, during the recording process. Rum 37 took the decision to complete Guldstol Mod Yderste Kaj with the release both having a reflective sobriety and also about seizing hold of life’s moments. By collaborating with other musicians they were able to finish a full set of tracks.
The first song to surface from the LP is Caligula.
Strange Waves is an alt-rock quartet from the USA.

On the 26th of November they released their latest single Up In Smoke – which is available on bandcamp.
Stretching to approaching five and a half minutes, Up In Smoke, is a track worth spending time to allow the composition to fill the room with its melodies and texturing. Somewhat progressive in nature, though Strange Waves do not wander away from the point as, the percussion ensures the piece trots along in straight lines while guitars create the landscape enabling bass to play more of a second rhythm section than is typical deployment and the easy to engage voice rounds out the song.
