Martin Strecker – Hvis Du Kysser Min Hånd – Single Review

Martin Strecker is a Danish alt-EDM creator based in Turkey.

Martin Strecker

Martin Strecker

Hvis Du Kysser Min Hånd stretches across the room like the kiss to the hand it presupposes as gilded electronic loops coalesce with a synthetic vocal – yet far from throwing the listener into hiatus Martin Strecker is able to elegantly feint a brush with the dorsal of the hand.

The evolving composition – as though a rose dropping fragrant petals as the flickering backdrop of synthetics spinneret around each other. Hvis Du Kysser Min Hånd (available on bandcamp) has queasy lilt that finds the hypothalamus bobbing in opposing directions all at once, yet the cilia don’t find themselves equally out of equilibrium as the threading intonations bounce around the room in a flow which equalises as much as it disintegrates.

The second track of the four on Throw Your Head To The World! (available on bandcampBroken Teeth despite gaps in the smile still finds delight in standing upright despite all that is thrown as Boat Race Weekend topsy-turn a world of pulverising punches to the face to discover there is more to the 99% than what the 1% offer as table-scraps.

Boat Race Weekend whilst evoking of the broken world in which they exist – rather than lading themselves with subservience – offer a feisty brand of insouciance to confront and confuse those who have normalised insurrection with a clarion shriek of ‘terrorist threat’ and discover in Broken Teeth a discombobulation to their ‘world order’, as it neither threatens, nor offers resistance – merely responds with icy stare.

Jason Lawlor – 1,000 Words – Audio

Jason Lawlor is a Southern Blues creator from the USA.

Jason Lawlor

With his first foray into electronica – 1,000 Words surfaced yesterday. A track that contains an intrigue of core influence with synthetics and rather than sounding like a discordant hybrid Jason is able to pull it all together in a just over three minutes composition that spins like a gyroscope over the desk.

Sans Parents – Shouting Between The Lines – Audio

The Australian indie-synth quartet Sans Parents released the EP The Dead End yesterday.

Sans Parents - Shouting Between The Lines

Sans Parents

The release disports the wide raging style of Sans Parents with the closer Shouting Between The Lines showcasing harmonies between vocals along with interplay between drums and guitars in a track that is , to me, the punchiest on the release and concludes with a superlative self implosion and therefore my pick of The Dead End EP.

The Dead End – EP – Sans Parents is available on iTunes.*
